Meet the Musician

Violinist/Violist-Producer-Music Educator

Blake Hernton is a concert violinist/violist from Black Jack, Missouri (North County St. Louis). Practicing and performing strings pedagogy since the age of 10, Hernton has a reputation in the St. Louis Area for his career as a musician and music educator throughout several local school districts and a private studio. Hernton is a Truman State University graduate with a Bachelors in Music (2014) and a Masters of Arts in Education (2016).

Hernton has featured and performed background string productions in the St. Louis music scene with local artists including The Holy Posers and NandoSTL. Hernton is best known for his featured tune, “Outside” by NandoSTL and winner of 2 SlumFest Awards in 2020 (see links to music below.)

From traditional Classical Music to Neo Soul, Gospel, and Hip-Hop, Blake comes from a diverse background of musical genres that all comes to fruition through the release of his debut EP, Concert Black. From the classroom to the stage, Blake is no stranger to sharing the joy and love of music whether with students or with an audience, passion is priority.
